It's important for people to be aware that carpal tunnel syndrome is not a lifetime sentence. Symptoms sometimes resolve on their own. Women who get carpal tunnel symptoms during pregnancy often have complete resolution after they deliver their baby. People who have carpal tunnel syndrome as a result of an injury will get better as their injury heals, and people with progressive carpal tunnel syndrome in whom medical treatment is indicated can and most often are cured by surgical treatment with release of the carpal tunnel.
