Carpal tunnel syndrome does often resolve on its own. If the condition is the result of an underlying medical problem and the problem can be treated, carpal tunnel symptoms will often improve. An injury to the wrist that produces carpal tunnel symptoms may heal and the symptoms may go away. So sometimes carpal tunnel syndrome will resolve on its own and not require medical treatment to do so. If the symptoms progress and if they persist for any length of time, then it's important to seek medical attention and get appropriate treatment.
